THE IRS EXTENDS APRIL 15TH INTO MAY 17TH

Blaming the pandemic, the IRS (and the state of California) has again changed tax day. Last year they extended the due date for 2019 returns and payments due until July 15th, 2020. This year the due date for 2020 individual tax filings has been moved back just one month to May 15th, 2021.

My office has lots of plans for after April 15th that are not directly related to tax filing, so my office is treating the deadline for all the taxes I am currently working on as if the deadline is still April 15th.
